Today we're going to mix UFOs - a controversy over sightings at James Gilliland's ECETI sanctuary near Mt Adams, Washington - and a child whose presentation to the United Nations should have made a difference. And may yet do so - 16 years after the event.
We'll also take a quick look at some climate change reports and recent earth change events around the globe.
There's a web site in Australia on which two experienced pilots who visited James' sanctuary (that's his back yard in the pic) revealed their experience there of seeing a high-flying UFO respond to their signals.
Now those are a couple of brave pilots. Brave because, as you probably know, the aviation industry has put a damper on any such information being made public by air crew who see such things while flying the world's skies.
Their story quickly drew a debunker out of the Florida swamps with claims that their photograph (included with their story) was nothing but a fast-flying barn swallow or a particle of dust.
Now being the Director of the documentary that tells James' story - and includes the best of his 80 hours of footage of UFOs - I just had to respond.
You can read it all here but in brief, I said things like debunkers "rationalize the unknown on the assumption that what they know already is all there is to know."
To be honest, I know what a debunker is because I've been pretty good at it in my rather long lifetime. However, that sort of skepticism is just a cover.
A skeptic may very well have a stronger desire to "know" than those who just accept what they're told as being the gospel truth. (The gospels are not all truth by the way...which is what makes some people into skeptics...but that's another subject).
It was because I realized many years ago that what I knew wasn't all there is to know, that I began to have some extraordinary experiences - including UFO sightings in both New Zealand and the United States.
So it wasn't too big a leap - especially when I saw a UFO power up over the mountain near James' sanctuary - to making this quite unusual docko.
But there's more.
My interest in earth changes was triggered a couple of decades ago, partly because as a journalist I often covered storms and earthquake stories - and when James spoke of ETs having a serious concern about the direction our planet is heading, something in me resonated to that.
Thus, Earth Change Report became the post-documentary project of choice.
There happens to be a striking similarity between Mt Adams and this image of Mt Ngauruhoe in New Zealand - a volcano that features in Maori legend and prophecy as one of several which formed the land - and which will also eventually come back to violent life.
Debunkers enjoy the pretense that the mighty white western mind has a handle on all the world's riddles. They often take a pseudo-scientific approach and insist on 'critical thinking' - but always there are boundaries which should not be crossed.
Legends and indigenous prophecies are discounted as the meanderings or ravings of primitives who were making up stories about their past, their existence, their ancestors - and the world around them.
It took a visit to the top of this volcano to remind me that Nature has been around a lot longer than white people - and indigenous peoples have certainly not lacked their own records (whether oral or on clay tablets).
Science itself - though we may pay homage to its marvelous discoveries - is actually in its infancy as well - but even so, some of its practitioners are in danger of forgetting that science is about studying Nature.
And when you study a volcano from its rim - as I have done - you understand that Nature is the Book that God wrote.
Think about it - but not from the point of view that God is an old guy with a white beard in human form; think about God as an all-encompassing mind or consciousness whose thoughts travel on waves of energy that coagulate into mass. All mass is thus infused with the energy and life force that is God. God (as consciousness) is therefore the original author - and Nature is the book that God wrote.
If you can read it, see it, listen to it, you can understand the past, present and future. You can even begin to understand that Nature has a future that requires it to erupt, throw up, go through a fever, and heal.
[Sidebar June 22 08: Today New Zealand scientists are warning that Mt Ruapehu - seen erupting in 1996; it is close by Mt Ngauruhoe - is again on the verge of erupting. I've been to the top of that one too, and it also figures in Maori legend and prophecy. (Pics courtesy geonet.net).
As natural disasters strike with increasing ferocity around the globe, it is becoming my firm belief - shared perhaps by a few others - that we have treated this planet so badly that she has become extremely sick. Sick of us that is.
To put it bluntly, I also intuitively sense that she is absolutely sick of a species - humans - that grows up and turns into nothing better than a marauding colony of flesh-eating bacteria, infesting and infecting her skin with a spreading gangrene for which every individual bacteria bears some responsibility.
A child, on the other hand, such as I once was - you once were - has not yet matured and become just another bug or insect devouring everything in its environment.
A child is also observant and aware of those who control and use this world.
But as you probably know, adults generally believe children should be seen but not heard.
Fortunately perhaps, one child - Severn Suzuki - was encouraged to be heard. And she spoke to the United Nations in 1992.
I found Severn's speech and her delivery quite riveting.
To take the world's UN politicians to task as she did, took extreme courage.
But just think about it. Affected as they might have been by her presence, those UN politicians have achieved absolutely nothing in the 16 years since Severn was there.
Oh yes, they "do" things. But those things have done nothing to stop pollution, hunger, wars and starvation. Instead, the rape and pillage and killing goes on - not just the rape and pillage and murder of each other, but the same can be said of what is done to the earth itself.
Is it any wonder that some of us - perhaps those of us in whom the child has not been totally stifled - remain both aware and concerned about what so called 'adults' continue to do?
Did we really come into this world to forever literally pay them with money and labor for the privilege of living here while our very home is being put to the wrecking ball 24 hours a day?
"Sshhhhh. Shush Billy. You're too blunt. Just calm down and let's talk about this."
"Okay. You mean like at the United Nations?"
"Yes dear. That's much better. Just look at this story."
AfricaNews reports that "A 13-year-old Cameroonian running clean-up campaigns and tree plantings is among 700 children from around the world attending a UN environment conference in Stavanger, Norway for children who are engaged in environment conservation in their communities."
Billy says: "Nice story Mom. Did you see how they kept us kids talking and you all distracted for 16 years? And everything around us has just got worse....for 16 years...just like them?"
Perhaps I should have titled this essay "Paradise Lost."
This picture of strange colored 'clouds' was taken less than two hours ago and emailed from a trusted source.
It shows what are clearly airliner vapor trails - or, to put it more truthfully, chemtrails - chemicals mixed in jet fuel and sprayed out the exhaust to create these weird cloudy hazy skies.
What is it? What are 'they' up to? There are plenty of links on the Internet if you just do your own searching.
You'll also find references to colored clouds being seen prior to major earthquakes - NASA recently said it's thinking of putting satellites up there to monitor them. China did exactly that ten years ago.
Okay, whether or not you can see a link between Nature's increasing instability and human activities, is not important.
What is important is that we be aware of the current situation, understand that natural disasters are getting bigger and worser (alright, be picky - worserer), and since we haven't made any provision for our grandchildren, we're going to have to suffer the consequences of our inaction ourselves.
(One of these days, you just might kick yourself for passing up this suggestion).
