Water Woes - Babes In Belts

Director Michael Knight Ediutor of Earth Change Report

Feb 29 2008

From the desk of Publisher/Editor Michael Knight.

Let's empower women - maybe wake up some men - consider some of this week's earth changing events - visit another once-secret bunker - and more.

The "more" is more on free electricity and increased vehicle gas mileage.

As for the water woes, we're talking about rising sea levels and climate change that is pushing Eskimos out of their traditional seaside village.

Plus we have an animated map of global sea level rise - coming to a beach near you - with the prospect that many cities are soon to be inundated.

_________________________________

LET'S START WITH AN ANIMATED MAP OF RISING SEA LEVELS

Kansas University scientists have looked at the available data and projections about climate change and global warming - and this is their view of the future.

(If you're on dial up, you might want to start this buffering and come back after a while).

By the time you've finished this newsletter you'll be older and wiser. And much better prepared for earth changes as well.

That's because Earth Change Report, while it takes the position that we should expect earth changes to be abrupt, also presents this news as if you are wise enough to know the value of gathering information, objectively, and then doing what you need to do to prepare - just in case.

Kivalina Village Alaska
WATER WOES

“An Eskimo village that is melting into the sea off Alaska has launched a legal challenge against BP, Shell and more than 20 other oil and power companies, alleging that their contribution to global warming is threatening to destroy the tiny community.

“The 391 inhabitants of Kivalina, a traditional Inupiat Eskimo village built on an eight-mile barrier reef between the Chukchi Sea and Kivalina river, say sea ice that has always protected them is eroding because of higher temperatures and that the energy companies should pay to move them to safer ground.”

Am I smelling hypocrisy here – or just some opportunistic attorneys?

Did these people ever use gasoline? If so they have done their share to create the crisis they are in.

So have we – but can you imagine suing the auto companies for making your car and expecting them to pay for you to relocate far from a smog-bound city?

By the time the case has made its way through the court system, it's likely that village - and several smoggy cities - will be well under water.

China short of water

BOTTLE IT - BAG IT

China's top legislature on Thursday adopted an amended water pollution law that toughens punishment of company officials through hefty fines.

"Enterprise heads directly responsible for causing severe water pollution incidents and others with direct responsibility will be fined up to half of their income of the previous year," says the law.

If they act on this law, someone is going to lose six months pay immediately. (Note - the following info came from a Radio New Zealand link which is no longer working).

About 200,000 households in China are without water because several tributaries of the Yangtze river have turned red with chemical pollution.

Water companies in five towns have been ordered to stop drawing supplies from the rivers. Residents are relying on bottled water and scarce underground supplies from old wells.

For some reason – without being specific about any connection – the story includes the fact that a major maker of plastic bags has just shut down and laid off 20,000 employees.

“Huaqiang factory in Henan province previously produced 250,000 tonnes of plastic bags worth 2.2 billion yuan ($US305 million) every year.”

The question is – did they close the factory for environmental reasons, or simply relocate to make more bags cheaper somewhere else?

S. AFRICA WATER WARNING

South Africa is in danger of running out of water for industrial use.

The warning comes from the World Wide Fund for Nature - South Africa (WWF-SA) which says 98 percent of available water resources are already fully utilised and the country could run out of water by 2025.

"This doesn't mean the taps will run dry, but that water-intensive industries won't be able to continue working as before and there may be water rationing," chief executive of WWF-SA Morne du Plessis told a media briefing.

WHEAT? WHAT WHEAT?

According to the TimesOnline “The world is only ten weeks away from running out of wheat supplies after stocks fell to their lowest levels for 50 years.

“The crisis has pushed prices to an all-time high and could lead to further hikes in the price of bread, beer, biscuits and other basic foods.”

The worst part is the word “beer.”

Collier Florida to get methane converter at landfill

MONEY IN METHANE

The Waste Management company in the US went very green many years ago.

It has built almost 100 methane-powered generating plants at landfills around the country.

Now, it is negotiating to build something similar in Florida’s Collier County.

“The facility would generate 4 megawatts of power or enough to create electricity for 2,500 to 3,000 homes using the methane gas created by decomposing trash.”

Hopefully it’ll be on line before the ocean rises and fills the land fill.

Australia

CLIMATE CHANGE

Australia’s HeraldSun reports that “The strongest La Nina weather system to hit Australia in two decades delivered some of the most unpredictable summer weather in years and gave hope to drought-stricken farmers.”

That was so in some areas - while others have recorded record amounts of rain, floods and storms.

Britain has had its mildest February in more than 30 years (and so has the Pacific Northwest, which has recorded its third-driest February on record). Spring does not officially start in the northern hemisphere until the vernal equinox on March 20.

However, confused trees and flowers are budding and blooming in some places, while others remain blanketed under record snowfalls.

Is that climate change or what?

CONTACT HAS BEGUN

Subscribers ask me if the ETs who have contacted James Gilliland have any plans to help us out.

I have not personally met any of them.

But as I understand it, we made the mess, Nature has had enough, she's fighting for her life - and it's up to us to wake up.

James Gilliland really clued me in to how serious earth changes really are - so Earth Change Report is the child of this documentary.

That's because while it gives you what I think is the only available rational insight into Contact with benevolent off-worlders, it also shows you, with support from science, just how close we really are to totally messing up the world on which we live.

So yes, Contact has begun - you can buy the DVD here and see for yourself but it may be a while before we see any fleets of visitors over the United States.

UN Building

UNTIED NATIONS

Yes - I wrote that wrong deliberately - but I bet you hardly noticed.

Your lesson, Grasshopper Earthling, is that you are easily fooled by appearances.

I have seen the so-called "United" Nations in action for decades - and there is absolutely nothing "united" about the world at all.

Every country you can think of has been "untied" from its roots so that they may be "united" in a global economic resource according to a plan that was established long ago.

That agenda hides behind the appearance of good works, good institutions, and good people - some of whom may very well be totally unaware of how their sincerity is being misused.

Look at this one for example:

Another United Nations climate-focused group has been launched. (Those of you with a phobia about numbers would be appalled if you could see the underlying link. It ends in the number 666:-)

This one calls itself Climate Neutral Net – and it looks toward a time when there will be zero pollution on this planet.

The first four countries to partner are Costa Rica, Iceland, New Zealand and Norway.

Am I cynical? Seems like testing greenhouse gas-reducing strategies in four small countries will once again present the illusion that something is really being done – when in fact all the major polluting will continue unabated, including from your car and mine. Unless we find some alternatives.

Sundance Generator

FREE ELECTRICITY. BETTER GAS MILEAGE

Last week ECR ran an item about a Sundance generator that can purportedly supply free electricity, and a vehicle add-on that will get you 50 to 100 per cent better mileage.

Questions were raised. Is it a scam?

I phoned the ITEC agent in Cairns, Queensland, Australia – John Scotese.

Here’s what he had to say.

The Sundance generator is ready to demonstrate – provided they have 1.6 million potential users signed up in the US and Canada. That is their target market at this point. World wide comes later.

A major reason for targeting North America is that laws here require the current electricity producers to buy any surplus energy produced by “green” sources – such as home-owned solar, wind-powered or in this case the Sundance generator system.

They also want that number of people to attend demonstrations because it will ensure that politicians are aware of a huge interest and their machines will not be confiscated “for evaluation in terms of consumer safety” – which has apparently happened before.

Big Business – and the politicians they have funded into office – have a history of repressing alternative technology. So the plan is to hold two demos in every state and province.

This would allow for one demo unit to be taken away “for evaluation” (if that’s what the states choose to do) – but if two get taken…well, that would be a sure sign that there’s a different agenda going on.

Mr Scotese said they’ve raised enough money to hold the Sundance generator demonstrations – but as of November 2007 they “only” had one million people signed up. If they get to the 1.6 million by May, the demos will go ahead. If not, it’ll be next year.

Is it a scam? I don’t see how it could be, since no money is changing hands here (unless you choose to become an agent, which costs something like $100,000….).

There is in fact a “free” generator available under a special program for Christians.

The rest of us can fill in a form that puts us on a list for the forthcoming vehicle units, and also register for the generator demo.

Fuel cell

Mr. Scotese told me there’s to be a meeting with politicians in Washington DC this month (March) where they’ll discuss the new vehicle technology – and look to get changes made to laws that currently prohibit adding such units to vehicles that have catalytic converters in their exhaust system.

Scam or Not?

Frankly, I concluded that when it comes to scams, the existing electric supply system is exactly that.

It came into being at a time when Nicola Tesla was able to harvest electrical energy from the environment for free. No hydro dams, no coal fired power stations, no nuclear power plants with their lethal by-products that no-one has a clue how to dispose of safely.+ No millions of trees sacrificed to make transmission lines that collapse in a storm and leave millions without power.

Yet we gladly pay for all the electricity we use, month after month, because there is no alternative….or so “they” would have us believe.

I’m personally in favor of visualizing a different future – and these technologies just might be the very thing.

We either look to a different future – or we accept the status quo, which is the very reason why we now have a newsletter called Earth Change Report reporting on the devastation of our planet.

Sidebar: In the past week (just so you know) I became a designated “recruiter” because of the response to last week’s article.

But there’s no money in it for me at present. That only happens “if” this whole project comes to fruition and I’ll get a commission on any units that are taken up by people who sign up here._______________________

See this link for the full story on the plan.

To check out your sign-up options, including the free program for qualifying people, go here.

But the bottom line is, if you have thought this through and choose to sign up here now, you receive your generator in order of production.

Update Sunday March 02 08: Some people have found the form to be a bit faulty. Sometimes you can't fill it in. I spoke to John Scotese and he said he'd fix it.Apparently that hasn't been done yet.

The underlying code is a bit squiffy - so what you can do is hold your cursor inside the space you want to fill out, then roll the cursor to the right - and the arrow of the cursor will turn into a little upright Capital I.

You can then Left Click and start typing.

............

Update Mon March 03 08:

Following are two open letters - one from me to Mr Scotese (whose integrity I do not question, and who I hope will be truly successful with his vehicle mileage improvement devices).

The second is his reply. - MK

.....

Dear Mr Scotese.

This is an open letter to you and to my email list of subscribers to Earth Change Report.

Since speaking to you by phone a few days ago I have done additional research, and I'm sure you'll not be surprised to hear that I am not finding any good things about Dennis Lee's track record.

This link is just one example: http://www.phact.org/e/dennis.html

Much as I would hope to see this Sundance generator actually come to fruition and provide free energy for many people, the upshot is that I feel extremely uncomfortable about continuing as a recruiter.

My newsletter goes to people in 50 countries, and as editor I do my best to only recommend things that have real value and potential. In this case, I have cautioned readers to be very alert and do their own research as well.

But now I intend to also tell them that there are many questionable elements to Dennis Lee's claims.

Personally, I will leave my "sign up" in the works - and certainly look forward to being advised where and when the July 10 demonstration will be held in my state. If it happens, I will be there.

And if I can personally get a real close-up look at the generator - along with a colleague who can use his electrical engineering knowledge to test its input and output - and if it proves to be exactly what ITEC claims - then there will be no greater supporter on the planet.

However, the "Certificate of Energy Independence" that I received as a .pdf file after signing up also includes some words like "if and when available"...that give me further cause for concern.

You also said if ITEC does not have the 1.6 million sign ups by May, the demos will be put off till next year. This, according to the research I have done, has happened frequently - so there is obviously no guarantee that there will be any demos this year at all.

As you know, I did not request my status as a recruiter - it was your decision to add my name to that list because of the response from my readers - but given the unfolding circumstances of the past couple of days, I must ask you to remove me from the list.

It's true that no money has changed hands at this point - but I am concerned that the addition of names to the list via my web site might lead to those names being touted (if not openly revealed in detail) as 'evidence' of interest, to thus enable Lee to raise more capital or attract additional investors.

Now that I have discovered that he has had about 20 years to get this off the ground, in which time he has run through a lot of "dealers" and "partners" and "distributors" (one of whom emailed me) I would prefer to wait and see - and caution my readers to do the same.

Sincerely.

Michael Knight.

___________________

Dear Michael,

If you do not mind, I would like to add an open letter as well, as some of your readers have given this project an enormous boost.

First of all, I would like you to know me. I am a marine biologist, 54 years of age working on the Great Barrier Reef.

During my lifetime, half of the world's coral cover has disappeared and my playground is vanishing before my eyes.

I became aware of global climate change and fossil fuel depletion back in the late 70's.

Remember when we were all queuing up at the gas stations in '79? Jimmy Carter was president at the time and he gave tax incentives to businesses investing in renewable energy to kick America's fossil fuel addiction.

I heeded that call and I created a solar, wind, tide and wave powered business that supplied aqua cultured specimens for biomedical research.

I always did like Jimmy... his legislation permitted me to buy a yacht funded by US tax dollars, and most of my clients were funded by federal grants.

He also sweetened the deal by giving generous rebates for investments in sails, solar panels, wind generators plus I had no electric bills for my sea farms, because I was using wave and tidal power to flush them out and renew the water.

Since then, I have been playing with solar heat pumps, magnetic energy, bio diesel, and of course, running cars on water. In other words, I live my life dedicated to the elimination of fossil fuels.

Next, I want to say that the contact details that we collect are for the exact stated purpose... for promoting the ITEC event whenever it happens. We are not soliciting money or investments from that list and you will see that to be the case as time goes on.

True, we have made two attempts in the past to get the ITEC event together, but who would have thought it would be so hard to give something away for free.

By the way, it is not really free as we are asking you to spend your time and travel expenses to spend a day with us, but no admission fee.

As far as Dennis Lee is concerned, I have known him for over 20 years.

I used to spend time in his research center in Ventura, CA testing solar heat pumps and experimenting with ways to build a low temperature phase change generator.

The tests and measurements were true and I was totally convinced of the possibilities, but that never came to fruition because Dennis was imprisoned... unfairly in my opinion.

It was then that I realised the USA was well and truly a place I did not want to live, so I set sail across the Pacific.

I never really understood the full implications of what really happened to Dennis, but it really hit home when I was teaching marine biology at American Samoa Community College in the early 90's.

During that time, the US government had given a grant to supply solar hot water to the island's hospital.

It was very successful for a couple of months, but then the system "blew up". (leave it like this for effect later)

Shortly thereafter, one of the local chiefs was visiting my yacht to learn all about renewable energy. We agreed it would be a good idea to put a solar water heating system on his home.

The director of the energy department was a friend of mine and he agreed to give us as many panels as we wanted as they were doing no good sitting around gathering dust after being taken down from the hospital..

While we cleaned and loaded the panels in the truck, all three of us mused on the fact that the panels seemed to be in perfect condition.

Anyway to cut a long story short, about a week after the system was installed, it blew up and sprayed hot water everywhere. A couple of days later, I climbed the roof and discovered the pressure valve and the check valve were switched and the plumbing burst, not the panels.

I then found out that a plumber from the electric company came "to fix it'', the day before it blew.

Funny that... do you suppose it had anything to do with the fact that 200 solar panels on the hospital caused the power company to lose their best customer on the island?

And of course, everyone wanted a free solar water system once we showed how easy it was for under $200 in parts, so the power company nipped that in the bud as well by sabotaging the chief's installation.

Conspiracy? I believe so.

I could go on and on about stories like this... things that have happened to my friends and associates including mysterious deaths. A lot of people can't believe things like this can happen in America... but it is my reality.

There are not many people who support Dennis Lee, but I sympathise with his cause as our minds think alike on many issues.

Yes, I admit he has had a few hair-brained schemes in the past, but have to admire his persistence.

I have been involved in his latest fuel cell thing for a year now and was so excited that I quit my job, flew to the USA , bought a car and hydroplazzed a Mazda 3.

It was not an easy thing to do, but have made many runs between 80-120 miles per gallon. Believe me... once you experience 100+ mpg personally, you are hooked.

However, there was not much interest in the device, because most people thought it was a novelty and most mechanics that I met were too busy to get involved.

Anyway, returned to Oz and decided to work on this project in a more relaxed atmosphere. I purchased a Mitsubishi Lancer, put in a fuel cell and on the first run, got 119 mpg.

Since then, I have been playing games with the car's computer and still getting runs between 80 to 100+ mpg.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, I have some expert mechanics studying the optimizer and they reckon they can get it to work one way or another with good old Aussie ingenuity.

There is no doubt in my mind that this could be made to work on many cars once we crack the car's computer system.

There are a few cars running around the Cairns area with home built fuel cells that are showing a 20% increase in mileage, and the mechanics I am working with are fascinated by these cars and losing sleep trying to figure this thing out to get the 50%-100% increase.

All of us are now convinced this is a good thing, and are now committed to making this a sound purchase for the average consumer.

These guys are going to choose a car next week, where they can go into the car's computer and play around with the tuning.

Meanwhile in the USA, we are getting reports of areas where mechanics are figuring this thing out and getting cars to run with the turn of the key instead of playing with computers before each run. At the moment, I am concentrating on selling HAFC's in these areas to get more cars on the road.

I would also like everyone to know that despite all the negative stuff that is said about Dennis, there are many top folks involved with him.

I have personally worked alongside his associates and have met a couple of his inventors. These are dedicated people. I especially admire his wife Alison and I am totally in awe of Mike Holler and his knowledge of automotive systems. (I will never forget the time we were making a downhill run in HydroMaz with Mike on the Scan Gauge yelling "600 mpg!").

Also for the record, Dennis does not live an extravagant life... despite all the millions collected, it all goes into the selected projects.

So I guess, now all we can do is wait and see. The PICC is making its debut at the Washington International Renewable Energy Convention in Washington DC today. Later next month, we will hold HAFC demos for any reporters who are interested.

So my friends, that is where I stand on all of this. Thank you for your support, but I fully understand your concerns regarding your reputation. I will regretfully remove your name from the recruiters list.

In closing, I would like to say good luck in your own personal quest in making this world a better place. Isn't it interesting that we have the same goal in sight?

Sincerely,John

MORE BUNKER BUSTING

AP reports that - “The former West Germany's most-secret place - an underground bunker designed to shelter the government in case of nuclear war - officially opened Thursday in its new incarnation as a Cold War museum.

(Update March 26 08: That link no longer works. Maybe the story has been pulled or archived...but it said)....

“The bunker complex, which includes a maze of more than 10 miles of tunnel, is tucked into the rolling hills west of the former West German capital of Bonn.”

Are we supposed to imagine that with all the missile-rattling rhetoric between China, Russia, the US and other nuclear nations – they have abandoned such self-preservation hidey-holes?

Of course not.

They’ve just gone deeper and darker. And you’re still out in the cold – unless you take a page out of their book and do something for yourself. Which is entirely possible.

Especially if you're a woman.

If you're a man, you might like to look at Jim Farley’s unique concrete construction system.

He wrote and said "Since your audience can be from anywhere, I will give you the website for Tridipanel.

"Their website tells all anyone could ask about this system.

"It has a link to all of their distributors where you can see us listed as Wildcrete."

I have spoken with Mr Farley and he tells me his company is developing a very unique pyramid structure as well.

Babes In Belts Logo

If you're a woman (and real men can do this too) you could also follow through to this interesting site called Babes in Belts.

An excerpt from their site says:

“Declaring a war on Global Warming will not restore deep water supplies in the earth or keep ancient glaciers in the Polar Regions from melting.

"We can’t cut down a tsunami with a broad sword.

"We can’t shoot the wind.

"We can’t arrest an earthquake.

“But we can take personal responsibility for our safety, security and peace of mind.

"We can build a safe shelter and supply it with all we need for a sustainable future.

"The time for emergency preparedness is now.

"Our survival depends on it.”
