"Suddenly the shoreline north of Sydney was transformed into the Cappuccino Coast.

"Foam swallowed an entire beach and half the nearby buildings, including the local lifeguards' centre, in a freak display of nature at Yamba in New South Wales.

"Tom Woods, 12, emerges from the clouds of foam after deciding that surfing was not an option.

"One minute a group of teenage surfers were waiting to catch a wave, the next they were swallowed up in a giant bubble bath.

"It stretched for 30 miles out into the Pacific in a phenomenon not seen at the beach for more than three decades.

"Scientists explain that the foam is created by impurities in the ocean, such as salts, chemicals, dead plants, decomposed fish and excretions from seaweed.

"All are churned up together by powerful currents which cause the water to form bubbles. As a wave starts to form on the surface, the motion of the water causes the bubbles to swirl upwards and, massed together, they become foam.

"The foam 'surfs' towards shore until the wave 'crashes', tossing the foam into the air."

Because of a computer crash there was no ECR last week.

Proof that Nature follows no man’s calendar – or that the seasons are changing.

Tropical Storm Olga appeared well after the tropical hurricane season should have ended – and killed almost 40 people this week.

Twelve Haitians were found drowned on a farm in the Dominican Republic, raising the death toll to at least 38.

For the living, some of the 35,000 people who fled their homes are now returning as flood waters recede.

For the future – over 20,000 acres of banana plantations and plantain crops were destroyed.

Read that as further shortages and food price increases down the road.

An ice storm that cut power to over 600,000 homes in the state of Oklahoma this week, has turned to a less severe snow storm.

But almost 200,000 houses are still without power, most of them in the Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas. At least 25 people have died in accidents or house fires, and two are dead from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Warning – warning – warning – Carbon Monoxide is a byproduct of burning gasoline. Generators should never be used indoors….not even in an attached garage.

They will run outdoors in all sorts of weather (though it’s wise to spray a waterproofing compound on the spark plug before doing so).i

Editorial - Balls in the Court of Bali

You may be surprised to find that the UN’s International Panel on Climate Change has been in action (and we should write that as “inaction”) since 1988.

That is a full one third of my lifetime that they have had to do something about global warming. And the only warming they have done so far, is to warm chairs at conferences where they continually add more verbal gas to the atmosphere.

My drift here is that these international bodies are nothing more than window dressing to provide us with the illusion that something is being done.

The fact is that nothing is being achieved at all.

Talk is cheap. Very cheap. But the cost to our planet is beyond calculation.
So, although I remain extremely wary of politicians and bureaucrats - for very good reasons – I am very impressed by former US Vice President Al Gore’s straight-talking campaign to awaken us to the peril we are in.

Within days of receiving his Nobel Prize in Oslo (in conjunction with the foot-dragging IPCC) Al Gore was at the next major global conference on climate change – this time in Bali.

The conference had stalled because it could not reach any consensus on how to handle this issue that has been around for decades. And who has been the greatest foot dragger of all?

In an address prefaced by the statement that since he is no longer a politician he is not constrained by diplomatic niceties, Al Gore said:“my own country, the United States, is principally responsible for obstructing progress here in Bali.”

"You can feel anger and frustration and direct it at the United States of America," Gore said, "or you can make a second choice: you can decide to move forward and do all of the difficult work that needs to be done and save a large open blank space in your document and put a footnote by it."

That footnote apparently would allow for the United States – the world’s Number One polluter despite its spin-doctoring claims that China and India are mostly to blame, to be included in whatever plan the other 180 countries agree on.

Al Gore made headlines once again. And the White House responded in typical rear-guard offensive strategy by saying he was not adding constructively to the debate.

And the talk goes on, centered around some nebulous concept of trading carbon credits and eventually cutting back total emissions at least a decade hence.

By then, assuming none of the real and abrupt changes that Earth Change Report actually expects to overtake the planet do occur - the IPCC will have been in action (inaction) for 30 full years.

They have a diplomatic problem. They have a gas problem.

But we should not wait for them to come up with any meaningful solutions. Just expect more fancy verbal footwork and the illusion of progress yet again.

For ourselves, we should look at the much bigger global picture – and understand that it is Nature itself which is organizing its own solutions – and that requires some violent and very abrupt changes.

Sidebar: Speaking from experience, when your life is on the line it’s incredible what inner resources of strength you can find.

Imagine yourself face down in the dirt with a Special Air Services soldier karate chopping his way through your neck. (Of all the stupid reasons for doing so, it’s because you spoke to his girlfriend at a riverside barbecue and now he’s determined to kill you because he’s drunk and nasty).

As he straddles your back and grinds your face into the dirt it seems your last memories of this life will be the smell of pine needles and riverside mud and the sound and pain of a club-like fist breaking your neck.

Your mind looks down that dark tunnel as your assailant does everything he can to rip the life out of you.

And then, you decide enough is enough.

In a split second you explode in a flurry of violence that leaves a bloodied rookie soldier on his knees weeping in shock and awe.

Now think of our planet. She is being killed off by our actions, and our inaction. She too is fighting for life and the evidence is her rising tide of abrupt and disruptive events.

These are self-preservation changes that the IPCC, Al Gore, the EU, India, China, the United States…your country – my country – you and I as individuals - can do nothing about.

Except prepare.

CNN reported today (Sat Dec 15) that "The United States made a dramatic reversal Saturday, first rejecting and then accepting a compromise to set the stage for intense negotiations in the next two years aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions worldwide.”

They were apparently embarrassed into their reversal not just by Al Gore, but by other speakers such as one from New Guinea who said the US should "either lead, follow or get out of the way."

But if you read the specifics, you will see that yet again, nothing but future talks will occur. Real action is not on the agenda. ______

Solar Cycle 24 Starting Now? - NASA

Evidence came from the disruption of airplane GPS landing systems during a solar event in December 2006.

The sun then went quiet.

But now, there are signs - says NASA - that the next Solar Maximum may be starting.

Dec. 14, 2007: "The solar physics community is abuzz this week.

"No, there haven't been any great eruptions or solar storms.

"The source of the excitement is a modest knot of magnetism that popped over the sun's eastern limb on Dec. 11th, (pictured above in a pair of images from the orbiting Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO).

"It may not look like much, but 'this patch of magnetism could be a sign of the next solar cycle,' says solar physicist David Hathaway of the Marshall Space Flight Center.

"Many forecasters believe Solar Cycle 24 will be big and intense.

"Peaking in 2011 or 2012, the cycle to come could have significant impacts on telecommunications, air traffic, power grids and GPS systems.

"In this age of satellites and cell phones, the next solar cycle could make itself felt as never before."

It is this sort of scientific analysis that validates ECR's contention that not only will such storms affect telecommunications, air traffic, power grids and GPS systems - they could well cripple everything that generates or uses electricity.

You deserve to have some questions answered.

Questions such as: What on earth – or in space – could star people have to do with earth changes?

Isn’t this just one of those hokey documentaries that come around regularly to capitalize on the world-wide interest in UFOs?

Telling me about "beautiful ETs - and "Major earth changes by 2010" - are you guys for real?

All fair questions, especially if you have been reluctant to commit to buying this Video.

So here are some straight answers.

As Director, I went into this production at the tail end of almost 50 years’ experience as a writer/director. Caution is a built-in attitude when dealing with anyone (in this case James Gilliland - right)who has an unusual story to tell.

Therefore, while James at first meeting appeared to be a sincere person, it was necessary as far as I was concerned to have some proof of his claims.

Part of that came in the form of personally seeing – in a matter of a few hours – at least three UFOs fly over his sanctuary and do what he calls a “power up.”

Additional proof of his truthfulness was the many hours of uncut video footage he had shot over the years showing many types of UFOs (mainly seen as lights moving in the night sky). We have used the best of these in the DVD - along with some superb footage from NASA and the European Space Agency.

Then there was his Near Death Experience (which I could relate to in my own way because of such an experience of my own in the past).

For just one example – this one from Europe – the prospect of rising sea levels has pushed the EU to spend millions of Euros investigating the subject.

Meanwhile, Britain has plans to abandon several coastal villages which will disappear in the near future. (Red regions above indicate coastal areas scheduled to go under).

Another example, this time from this week: Scientists now say "This year has been one of the warmest since 1850, and they forecast this week that the arctic ice could melt entirely during summers by 2013."

I went to the Virginia Institute of Marine Science for corroboration of his claims that the oceans are full of dead zones. Not only was James correct – the problem is far and away worse than you can imagine.

It may sound at first as if one is being over-dramatic, but when you study this in detail and find the evidence that science presents us with, we are indeed on a “fast track to extinction” (James’ words).

Given these realities, one concludes that there is very little time left to prepare.

But prepare we must. And given what NASA has said in the last 24 hours alone about the coming solar storms, I make no apologies to anyone for stressing this simple simple necessity.

As for the ETs James talks about – the benevolent ones he is in contact with; (Debra Johnson artist impression pictured. (c) DCT Enterprises LLC) I have yet to meet them personally.

But in another and private area of my life I have gained over the past 20 years all the knowledge and proof I personally need about earth changes and the existence of such advanced civilizations. They are far more evolved than us.

So with my contract as Director completed, I chose to start this newsletter to offer those who are interested in earth changes some much more detailed information in conjunction with what is covered by James in the DVD.

That is why I say the DVD is essential viewing.

In a symbiotic relationship, the DVD and the newsletter complement each other – both offering invaluable information (even life-saving information, to be honest) and both focused on future solutions.

But those solutions have to be set in motion now. Not 30 years down the road. Now.

Otherwise, like diplomats enjoying the balmy airs of Bali, we’ll find ourselves blowing gas as our world goes into her final stages of fighting for survival.

Survive she will.

But will we?
