Clean Your Engine - Clean The Planet
We've talked on Earth Change Report for quite a while about the way we've turned Terra into a garbage dump.
Sure, there's lots of talk about "green" options that'll clean things up.
But there's also this "cap and trade" scam that will allow coal fired power plants to go on polluting for the next 20 years at least (NOT) - Terra itself is going to fix that with an earthquake or two and a tsunami or three...just wait and see.
Anyway, since we're not really able to make the major polluters change their minds, it comes down to doing what we can personally to walk the talk rather than just moan about others.
By doing something ourselves, even if it's just a small something, we can actually make a difference instead of just talking about it.
SO...you'll recall a previous mention of my having a Throttle Body modification done to my 1991 Buick Le Sabre - and how impressed I was with the extra power, and the 20 per cent (minimum) increase in mileage.

Huge Emissions Reductions
These modifications to throttle bodies and carburetors not only increase mileage and power, they actually REDUCE EMISSIONS by a HUGE percentage.
They are recording drops of 75% and more in pollutants in most engines.
This fits with a secret part of my background. I worked as a grease monkey in a commercial auto garage for some time as a teenager, learned how to switch engines in various vehicles, know heaps about maintenance, raced off-road bikes for years, but have always wondered why most gasoline engines come from the factory lacking in real fuel economy and power.
Worse still, they pollute like crazy - and down in New Zealand, we were probably the first in the world to understand the hole in the ozone layer was growing like cancer - and actually creating cancer through extended sun exposure. (I personally used a natural salve to remove a couple of cancerous melanomas a few years back. Very icky things).
Without becoming a Greenie Radical, I nevertheless took the business of minimizing my personal "carbon footprint" seriously - as did my friend Liz at the time - and we all but eliminated the use of fossil fuels by using Clydesdale horses on our farm.
But that's another story - just by way of explaining that such things make one aware that there SHOULD be better ways to burn gasoline cleaner (if you must use it - and most of us must).
So, for all those GOOD REASONS I chose to become a Licensed Gadgetman Technologies Technician. In other words, I'm now in the Gadgetman Modifications business and have been afforded the honor of handling future 'G-men' enrolees for the state of Washington, helping to spread this technology in my "neck of the woods".
Having signed a Non Disclosure Agreement (about the technical/proprietary side of things) and done the necessary training and practice, I bought the specialized equipment required for these modifications, and have already received some good feedback from the first five modifications I have done
One example - the fuel usage read-out in a Ford Crown Victoria immediately went from 16mpg to 21mpg.
That's impressive, although it has yet to be cross checked by recording actual mileage on a full tank and topping up again.
And by the way, this is not just a mens thing. Women can do this too - with Marsha from Missoula recently training and becoming the first GadgetWoman:-)
There's also a fourth and decisive reason why this newly patented (or patent pending) technology is so incredibly beneficial - not just for those who get the work done and save money with a vehicle that runs cleaner stronger and longer - but also for potentially thousands of people around the world. This is genuinely new technology (which is why it is being patented to protect intellectual property rights etc) - and although hundreds of modifications have been done during the development process, Gadgetman Technologies still describes this as "experimental" work.
That's to protect you, because there are dozens if not hundreds of different throttle body and carburetor configurations, and what you have on your vehicle might require a slight change to the basic modification procedure. So in that sense, it is "experimental" - but there's no risk involved.

If we keep waiting for politicians and corporations to clean things up, well, it's never going to happen.
However, if we each do everything we can to reduce our own use of fossil fuels and output of emissions, we'll be both saving money AND cleaning things up. Maybe just a little bit, but every little bit counts.
But back to the "no risk to you" explanation. To allow for the possibility, remote though it is that your make and model of vehicle does not respond as expected, the procedure is fully reversible (again, that's proprietary knowledge so we won't go into detail).
Full Transparency
Transparency counts: We also have a money-back guarantee (with some minimal conditions). Also, we have found that while virtually every vehicle that's been done so far (hundreds) responds with increased power and reduced emissions, a few do not show a mileage per gallon gain. We are very open about that and can discuss this on a case by case basis before the job so you know up front what you might expect.
In case you're wondering - this modification does NOT affect any engine warranty you might have on your vehicle - so if you're currently paying it off monthly, and you have a modification done, you'll likely be saving gas money which you can put toward your payments.
To recap: A Gadgetman Modification can be done on gasoline engines (except turbos) that use throttle bodies (fuel injected) or carburetors. CNG and E-85 vehicles experience benefits, too.
The procedure does not work on diesel engines, which use entirely different fuel and combustion processes.
On gasoline engines the modification has been proven to improve fuel economy (on most vehicles), horsepower (throughout the rev range) and to reduce emissions.
This modification on ethanol-burning engines vastly improves their start-up in cold weather AND throttle response, as well as for those that burn natural gas. (Actual economy improvements on ethanol and natural gas vehicles varies in comparison to gasoline/petrol engines, but the cold weather start-up is a major plus).
