\Green AND Fast - Car Mod Test Report
July 31, 2009
Greetings from Michael Knight, Editor, Earth Change Report.

Please bear with me while I sort out some changes in the way Earth Change Report is delivered.

I don't want to impose on you or waste your time (or mine of course) - so I'm doing my best to be guided by the feedback from the recent survey.

At the same time, it honestly seems like events are speeding up or happening a lot quicker than they used to - and many of them are things we should be aware of as we prepare for the adventures of the next few years.

Like a series of earthquakes around the solar eclipse; Krakatoa volcano coming to life again; heaps of concern about swine flu and mandatory vaccines - with the military gearing up to "help" in the USA; suggestions of demonstrations, maybe riots, possible incarcerations come September/October...and an incredible number of UFO sightings being reported...the list keeps getting bigger.

Rather than try and fit it all in to one newsletter, the intention is to put these stories (and commentary and essays) up on my web site or blogs...then just send brief emails to you so you can check out the ones that are of interest.

There's also lots of work to do on the new eBook responding to survey questions as well. That'll be completed asap.

But right now...

It is with genuine enthusiasm that I'm writing this brief update about the modification that an ECR subscriber has done on my car.

That's why I have titled this newsletter Green AND Fast.

By "Green" I mean the modification is intended to reduce pollution (which is good) and by "fasty" I mean..well..that's really not the most important part.

... Quick background if this is your first awareness of this subject).

Ron Hatton specialises in doing magic on vehicle carburetors and Throttle Bodies...he has just received a provisional patent for a modification that increases power, but more importantly reduces emissions by a HUGE amount, and increases mileage per gallon.

I had him do a modification for me so I could do a test report for subscribers...and he's offering ECR subscribers a special deal for the next day or so).

....

Here's the test report I sent him.

Hey Ron - you can honestly call this an unsolicited testiomonial.

I'm just back from my first test drive (1990 3800 Buick Le Sabre Ltd) after your modification on the Throttle Body (TB).

Once I'd got the TB back on (required two trips to town to replace nuts that are now somewhere in the abyss behind the engine)I disconnected the battery neg cable for a minute or so to give the computer a fresh start on reading the sensors now that the modified part is installed. I then reconnected it. Started her up...she fired first time...coughed and died...then fired right up again. (Just as well, because the battery goes flat when she sits for several days).

Let her idle for a few minutes so she could get adjusted. First thing I said as we left the driveway (to Judith) was..."only need about half the usual pressure on the throttle." There's a small uphill immediately out of our drive, so I gave it the usual pressure and the next word out of my mouth was "SHEEEE...It!" (In a GOOD way mind you:-) Then there's a stop sign and a reasonable straight stretch, so I gunned it a bit. Very definitely quicker.

I can 'feel' the computer trying to figure things out,and as you say that could take 40 miles or so, but it's doing a pretty good job already.

Down the road I rather wished I had done a 0 - 60 timed run before sending the TB to you, so I could try that with the new modification.

Oh well...why not just turn around at the end of the straight and try it anyway. Nice surprise. She does 0 - 70 in about the same time as she used to do 0 - 60 (that's very subjective of course, but I know what I know). It was as obvious as anything that when I planted boot, she sounded a whole lot easier (different) than previously, and she didn't even red-line (the Le Sabre has a tachometer, which is a cool thing).

A couple of other differences were that when I put the pedal to the metal she dropped a gear with quite a different 'thud' (not serious, but I wouldn't want to be doing this too often since transmissions cost four times what I pad for the car:-)

She also popped into overdrive at 65. (Not sure how much of a change that is from previously, but it's certainly something I noticed). Guys can get hung up on "power" and "speed" and the kick they get out of rapid acceleration, but there's another very simple power test too - especially after a modification like this. Back home I stopped in the driveway and engaged reverse, then lifted my foot off the brake without putting any pressure on the throttle. She immediately idled backwards, quite sedately. She didn't do that before at all. In fact, she would've quite likely stalled.

So that was another "power" test.

Same thing occurred when I stopped and engaged forward drive (foot off brake, no foot on throttle, and she moved quietly ahead. Sure wish my horse understood that sort of thing:-) Should I adjust the idle?

I notice she's idling at around 400 rpm but again, I didn't do a 'before' check on that so I'm not sure it's much different. Even so, she certainly sounds as if she's breathing better so to speak.

Next thing will be to fill her up and do a known trip (without the heavy boot) and see how the mileage compares.

GOOD JOB RON:-)

Best. Michael Knight. (Former Motor Page writer, Bay of Plenty Times). ....

As Ron said in an earlier email:

1. This modification works on all normally-aspirated (non-turbo) gasoline engines to improve combustion (including lawn mowers and generators and the sort). 2. Over 95% of vehicle owners report dramatic changes in the power levels-especially at low-end speeds. 3. Over 80% of the vehicles modified show improvements in MPGs of 25% or more-some over 100%.

The modification is permanent, requires no maintenance and is idiot-proof, for if a person can remove and reinstall the part, they have all the skill required.

If anyone wants to know more about it, I encourage them to visit www.GadgetmansCoolCarMods.com and have a look-see.

Special Offer For ECR Subscribers

If they belong to your list, I will give them the pre-release pricing of $250 provided they act by August first.

These folks should e-mail me at Gadgetman@ClubHHO.com. They should put ECR in the subject line so I can quickly identify them as one of your extended family and treat them accordingly.

If anyone is less than happy with their modification, I will of course be happy to refund any payment received and reverse the modification at no charge.

Visit Ron's web site to learn more about a modification that would go a long way toward helping this planet if you had this work done on your vehicle.
